The admission to the various speciality of MPT shall be done on the basis of merit as ascertained from the performance of the candidate in All India Post Graduate Physiotherapy Entrance Test 2010 (AIPGPET-10)

  PROCEDURE & DEFINITIONS:  
 

General Category: Admission under this category shall be made on the basis of the inter-se merit of the candidates qualified at AIPGPET - 10.

NRI / PIO /FN Category: The candidate under this category is not required to appear for AIPGPET - 10. Admission will be made on the basis of inter-se merit of qualifying examination as determined by admission committee appointed for the purpose by the competent authority.

The candidate will be required to pay processing fee U.S. $ 100. In case any seat earmarked for NRI / PIO / FNs is not filled in by the candidate of any of this sub - categories, the management shall fill in such vacant seat (s) for the candidate (s) who has / have cleared the AIPGPET-10 and has / have applied for the seat separately the prescribed from available in the Vidyapeeth office. The fees payable by such candidate shall be Rs. 1.35 Lakh (One Lakh thirty five thousand) per annum.

In this context, the bona-fide NRIs, PIOs and Foreign Nationals are defined as follows:

An NRI is a person who is 'not a resident' or who is 'not ordinarily resident' (i) If he / she has been resident in India for less than 182 days in the year preceding the date of application; or (ii) If he / she has been in India for less than 365 days during the four years immediately preceding the date of application.

A PIO is a person having foreign citizenship (except Pakistan and Bangladesh ) within NRI status, but who holds a foreign passport at the time of sending application or at the time of consideration for admission and during the period of his study for courses and whose one / both parents or anyone / both grand parents is (or was) are (or were), citizen (s), of India by virtue of the provisions of the Constitution of India ) or Section 2 (b) of Citizenship Act 1955 ( Act. No. 57 of 1955).

An FN is a person having citizenship of a foreign country (any country other than India) and not having the status "NRI" and / or "PIO".

 
     
  RULES FOR SELECTION AND ADMISSION  
 

The admission to MPT courses in various Physiotherapy subjects in Dr. D.Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy, a constituent college of the Vidyapeeth, shall be done as per the relevant Rules and Bye-laws of the Vidyapeeth. The competent Authority has established a coordination committee for conduct of AIPGPET - 10 and Selection and Admission process.

Court Jurisdiction - Any legal matters arising out of the admission procedure of the PG courses through AIPGPET - 10 of Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune will be under Pimpri jurisdiction.

 
     
  ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:  
 

Indian national having Bachelors degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized University can apply for the entrance test and the admission to MPT course.

A candidate who has completed six months compulsory internship or is likely to complete the same on or before 31st July 2010 can appear for the All India Post Graduate Physiotherapy Entrance Test (AIPGPET-10).

A candidate likely to complete their internship on or before 31st July 2010 should submit documentary proof from their Principals / Dean of the College regarding the likely date of completion of internship at the time of admission process, failing which the admission will be rejected.

 
     
  SCHEME OF ENTRANCE TEST  
 

AIPGPET - 10 Paper will be of one and half hours duration containing 100 multiple choice question (MCQs). Questions will be of single best response objective type with four answer options. Each correct response shall be awarded one mark. There shall be no negative marking for wrong answers. Scratching, overwriting, tick marks and multiply answers will be considered as wrong answer and no marks will be awarded to them.

The AIPGPET - 10 shall be of the standard of Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) Examination and shall cover all the subjects of BPT Course. The scheme of examination and the tentative number of questions of each subject will be as shown in the chart:

There is no option among the questions i.e. all questions have to be answered. The candidates will be provided with one single computer readable answer sheet for answering. OMR (Optical Mark Reader) answer sheet for answering. At the end of paper/session student will handover the OMR Answer sheet and Question booklet to the invigilator.

The candidate will be required to mark the correct answer by blackening the corresponding circle against the serial number of the question with black / blue ballpoint pen or HB pencil only on the answer sheet ( specimen answer sheet is given as annexure I). Out of four circles provided for selection of answer against a question, the candidate should fill up one circle only. Each correct answer will be given 1 mark.

  SCHEME OF ENTRANCE TEST  
  CONDUCT OF AIPGPET - 10  
 
  1. All eligible candidates except NRI /PIO/FN are required to take the AIPGPET - 10 at their own cost.
  2. The AIPGPET - 10 will be conducted on
    Sunday, 20-06-2010,
    Time: 11.00 am To 12.30 pm
  3. The AIPGPET - 10 will be conducted at Pune
  4. The Examination will be conducted in English medium.
 
  TIE - BREAKER FOR EQUAL MARKS  
  (For Determination of the Inter-se-merit of candidates obtaining equal AIPGPET - 10 marks).
In case two or more candidates obtain equal marks in the AIPGPET - 10, the inter-se-merit of such candidates will be determined in the order of preference as under: -
  1. The candidate with more aggregate marks (converted into percentage) at First Second, Third & Fourth B.P.T. Examination taken together shall be preferred. If the tie still persists,
  2. The candidate with more aggregate marks (converted into percentage) at Fourth B.P.Th Examination will be preferred. If the tie still persists,
  3. The candidate with more aggregate marks (converted into percentage) at Third B.P.T. Examination will be preferred. If the tie still persists,
  4. An older candidate will be preferred over a younger candidate.
 
  RESULT AND MERIT LIST  
 

Results will be displayed on the notice board of Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pimpri, Pune - 411018. Dr. D.Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy, Pimpri, Pune-411018 and will also be available on website at www.dypatiluniversity.org. Results of individual candidate will not be communicated on telephone or by post.

There will be no rechecking / revaluation of the answer sheets.

 
     
  SELECTION PROCEDURE  
 

The selection will be done as per merit and preference given by the candidate.
The candidate selected as per his / her merit cum preference for particular subject has to joint the course on the date of course commencement.

 
     
  COUNSELLING & ADMISSIONS  
 

A reasonable number of qualified candidates, as per the merit list, shall be called for Counselling and admission as shown in calendar of event by the competent Authority.
Counselling will be done by Competent Authority and subject experts.

The candidate shall produce originals of the required certificates at the time of counselling and admission.

The selection to the course shall be done on the basis of merit cum preference given by the candidate.

The selected candidate will have to join the course as shown in calendar of events.
The admission will be made on provisional basis. The candidate has to give an undertaking for completion of the course.

Student shall submit the eligibility form to the Vidyapeeth at the time of joining the course and the admission confirmation shall be subject to grant of eligibility by the Vidyapeeth. The candidate shall pay the annual fees and the Vidyapeeth eligibility fee at the time of admission.

The D.D. of annual fees shall be in the name of The Principal, Padmashree Dr. D.Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy, and the D.D. of eligibility fee shall be in the name of Registrar, Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, both on nationalized bank and payable at Pune.

NRI/PIO/FN CATEGORY - Admissions to these candidates will be done on the basis of marks obtained at the qualifying examination. They will have to apply in the separate form available in the University office and on the University website.

GENERAL CATEGORY - Admission are on the basis of rank obtained in the All India Post Graduate Physiotherapy Entrance Test - 2010.

FOREIGN / NRI CATEGORY - Admission are on the basis of marks obtained at the qualifying examination.

 
     
  Annual Fee structure for candidates under different categories shall be as follows:

Total fees include tuition fee, development fee and other fees, etc.

In addition to the above fee, the candidate will have to pay
Vidyapeeth Eligibility Fee which is 10% of the total fees payable for the first year (i.e. 9,000/- for general category candidates, US $ 500 for NRI /PIO/FN category candidates and Rs. 13,500/- for candidates admitted against the vacancies in NRI/PIO/FN category.)

The Vidyapeeth examination fees as decided by the Vidyapeeth from time to time shall also be payable by the candidate. In case any seat earmarked for NRI /PIO/FN is not filled in by the candidates of any these sub-categories, the management shall fill in such vacant seat (s) from the candidate (s) who has / have cleared the AIPGPET - 10 and has /have applied for the seat separately in the prescribed form available in the Vidyapeeth office. The fees payable by such candidate shall be Rs. 1, 35,000/- per annum.

 
     
  RULES FOR REFUND OF FEES  
  Admission to the course can be cancelled at the request of the student on submission of an application. Refund of the fees in such cases shall be as below:

Important: If a student, admitted to the course, leaves the course at any time after 90 calendar days from the date of admission, he / she shall be required to pay full amount of tuition fees and other fees for the remaining entire duration of the course.

 
     
  Hostel & Accommodation:  
  Hostel & Mess facilities are available to all those who wish to avail the same.
 
     
  Ragging:  
 

Ragging in any form is a punishable offence. If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned students shall be given liberty to explain and if his / her explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would explain him / her from the college

 
     
  Dispute :  
 

Difference of opinion and any dispute arising in the interpretation and implementation, of the clauses in this brochure, if any shall be referred to the Vice Chancellor of Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune and his decision shall be final and binding on all the concerned.

 
     
  Court Jurisdiction:  
 

Any legal dispute arising out of the admission procedure of the course and refund of the fees of the University shall be under Pimpri Jurisdiction only.

 
     
  Warning:  
 

The candidate seeking admissions to the course of the Vidyapeeth is warned against possible cheating by unscrupulous person, who may promise and assure seats by extracting large sums of money, from the parents / candidates. The Vidyapeeth has not appointed any such agent (s). The Vidyapeeth shall no, in any way, be responsible for the misdeeds of such person (s).

 
     
  Application Procedure:  
 
  1. An application seeking admission to the AIPGPET - 10 will be required to submit single prescribed application form.
  2. The application from along with the information brochure will be available for sale at Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune and also on the Vidyapeeth website.
  3. The cost of the application form along with the information brochures of AIPGPET - 10 is Rs. 500/- and test fee is Rs. 1000/- to be paid by a Demand Draft / Pay Order a drawn on any nationalized bank in favour of " Registrar, Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, payable at Pune. This amount is not refundable.
  4. The candidate shall fill up the prescribed application from along with the admit card. The completed application form and the admit card shall be dispatched to the Registrar, Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pimpri, Pune - 411018 along with the Demand Draft of test fee in the name of the "Registrar, Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune", on nationalized bank, payable at Pune.
  5. Appearance at the Entrance Test and inclusion of the name in merit list does not qualify the candidate for admission unless he / she fulfills the eligibility criteria.
 
  APPLICATION FORM AND FEES FOR TEST  
 
  1. An applicant seeking admission to the AIPGPET - 10 will be required to submit single prescribed application form with attested copies of certificates. The competent Authority shall issue prescribed application form along with information brochure containing procedures for admission to post graduate courses.
  2. The information brochure and application form will be available for sale at Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pimpri, Pune - 411018.
  3. The cost of the application form along with the information brochure of AIPGPET - 10 is Rs.500/- and the examination fees is Rs.1000/- to be paid by a Demand Draft / Pay Order drawn on any scheduled bank in the favour of "Registrar,
    Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, payable at Pune. This amount is not refundable.
  4. AIPGPET - 10 will be conducted at Pune.
  5. Original documents / certificates should not be attached with the application form.
  6. The application form should be accompanied by attested photocopies of following certificates.
    i) Nationality Certificate / Valid Passport
    ii) Certificate for Age (SSC passing Certificate)
    iii) B.P.Th. statement of marks.
    iv) B.P.Th Degree / Passing Certificate.
    v) Internship Completion Certificate / Certificate indicating likely date of completion of Internship from the Dean / Principal.
    vi) Bonafied Certificate from the Dean / Principal
    vii) Registration Certificate of IAP.
    viii) Migration certificate
    If applicable

  ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHS  
 

Two photographs, taken from the same negative, without cap or goggles, taken within the last six months should be pasted: one on the application form and the other on the admit card, attached to the inside of the back cover.

 
     
  DEFINITIONS  
 
  1. Competent Authority means The Vice Chancellor,
    Dr, D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pimpri, Pune -411018
  2. Internship means 6 months' compulsory rotatory internship after passing the BPT examination as per norms.
  3. Coordination committee means a committee constituted by the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of the Dr, D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth,Pune for conducting Entrance Test for the selection of student for admission to Post Graduate courses.
  4. Recognised qualification means the degree of BPT from any Physiotherapy College or institution in India, by recognized Universities.
