We
have recently laid the foundation
stone of another large hi-tech hospital
on the campus. With a carpet area
of 7,25,000 square feet and a provision
of 1,000 beds, this hospital will
have 12 basic OPDs, 10 superscpecialty
OPDs and 21 operation theatres. Among
other things, there will be facility
for angiography, angioplasty, stent
implantation, cardio-vascular surgery,
pediatric and neonatal surgery, transplantation
of kidney and bone marrow, cancer
diagnosis and treatment.

Deemed University status
was granted to Dr. D. Y. Patil University
vide Notification No. F. 9-39/2001-U.3 dated
11/01/2003 by department of Education, Ministry
of Human Resource Developement, Govt. of
India, New Delhi, and vide Notification
No. 6-9/2002 (CPP-I) dated 24/01/2003 by
University Grants Commission, New Delhi.
